NFL 2009 - 2010

Hey- it's not too early to start an NFL thread is it? NFL football has always been my favorite sport- even though the Lions are my team! Anyways, heres my pre-pre season picks for 07/08 : NFC Division...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

Yeah, Collinsworth is annoying but I have to say he has gotten better through the years. Summerall and Madden will always be my favorites for football. Scully and Costas for baseball. Chick Hearn...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

Arg, the Bears are on the road in Week 1 vs. Green Bay and then at home Week 2 vs. the Steelers. That could be a potential one-two punch to put a big crimp in the Bears season. The draft will be...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

So no breaks for the Lions. The Packers, Bears & Vikings have the 3 easiest schedules (for whatever thats worth) while the Lions have a pretty brutal schedule. Then again, when you're the Lions...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

Cowboys get no help in December when they have been struggling. But hey, if they're good enough to do anything, they should be good enough to win in December against pretty much whoever they play.

Anyone excited about the draft this weekend?

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

Unlike most years I have to say...not really. There doesn't seem to be that many "marquee" players and the fun of seeing how the Bears piss away their first round draft choice has already been removed.

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

Steelers pick up a D-Lineman from Missouri named Ziggy Hood in the first round - I have no idea who he is, as I don't really follow college ball, but with a name like that, he's got to be great, right?

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

I would totally want a guy names Ziggy Hood on my team! One of the best names since Zeke Mowatt. Don't worry, he'll be good. The Steelers are too smart of an organization to make foolish picks, which...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

The Bears traded away their only pick to Seattle yesterday, so all their picks will come today. Jeez, I know they suck on the first round, but this is ridiculous! They did get Matt Forte in the first...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

The Lions needed a great draft to help get back on track. Instead they took players that may be good, but NOT what they really needed. We get a blocking TE (basically they traded Roy Williams for him)...

I guess now that the draft is well past i can look back at the Lions. Everyone will gripe about Stafford, but the bottom line is he's a Lion and fans may as well accept it and root for the guy. It's...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

According to a lot of reports I've been reading, it seems inevitable that the NFL is going to add a 17th game to the regular season, possibly as soon as 2010. My question, is given how the schedule...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

I think an odd number of games is dumb. It should be 18 if they add. I'd like to see that- I hate 4 pre season games. On the other hand, when you add games, it makes a LOT of records easy pickings. I...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

I've always thought the easiest way to work in the bye weeks and make it fair is to let 14 have week 8 off and the rest week 9. Or if that would be too much of crimp in the TV cash flow go spread them...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

I always thought there should be separate records for 12, 14, and 16 game seasons. Rice has a completions record in a 14 game season that was broken in a 16 game season, which doesn't seem fair. Jim...

Re: NFL 2009 - 2010

If it were for a good reason, I could see extending the season, but this is just a cash grab. I could maybe see doing away with the bye week and extending it that way, but 17 games is a lot of...
